About Forx Roller Derby
Established in 2010, Forx Roller Derby proudly represents the Grand Cities' first and only roller derby team. Over the past 16 years, we have operated under WFTDA (Women's Flat Track Derby Association) guidelines, fostering relationships, competition, and camaraderie through the exciting sport of roller derby.
Our roller derby program offers more than just an athletic pursuit; it is a challenging experience that demands speed, strength, and dedication. Players participate in an 8-week boot camp, or Skater-Tots, to learn essential skills such as skating, hitting, and strategic gameplay. After completing the boot camp, they join our home team and compete in 4 to 7 bouts each year.
The Sugar Beaters are committed to promoting accessibility and supporting our community. We offer rental programs for low-income individuals to ensure that everyone can participate in the sport.
Throughout the years, we have raised funds to sustain our league and support various local nonprofits, including the Community Violence Intervention Center (CVIC), Project Dignity, and the Circle of Friends Animal Shelter.
